The Highway Weather "Forecast Point"
Forecast Points in the Map and Details Tabs are calculated based on your ("user-input") average speed for your journey and are automatically plotted along your route at roughly one-hour increments within Highway Weather.
Each Forecast Point can provide relevant weather and road-advisory information.
Forecast Points specific to the Extended Tab display the daily summaries for each Forecast Point you'll encounter during your journey, but this weather-and-road-condition information is not tied to your average speed (unlike the Map and Details Tabs' Forecast Points).
How Forecast Points are displayed in the Map Tab
Each Forecast Point in the Map Tab can provide relevant weather and road-advisory information. The default Forecast Points that are displayed show:
- The time of day at which you'll arrive to the Forecast Point
- The temperature at the Forecast Point at your time of arrival to that point in your journey
- A quick-&-easy-to-interpret graphic showing the general weather conditions at your time of arrival at that Forecast Point
Forecast Points are displayed in two ways on the Map Tab:
Along the Route Map |
Sequential, "Tap-Through" Format |
How Forecast Points are displayed in the Details Tab
The Forecast Points displayed in the Details Tab show:
- The time of day at which you'll arrive to the Forecast Point
- The name of the area
- The temperature at the Forecast Point at your time of arrival
- Additional, relevant weather information
- Any weather / road advisories that correspond to your time of arrival at that Forecast Point
(Note: the numbered list corresponds with the below screenshot's number labels.)
How Forecast Points are displayed in the Extended Tab
Each Forecast Point in the Extended Tab shows the high / low temperature, amount of precipitation, average windspeed and direction, and a brief text summary of the weather for each location based on the selected day.
Again, these forecast points are based on the daily summaries rather than the time at which you'll encounter each Forecast Point.
To adjust the day you'd like to view, slide the Time Slider at the bottom of the screen.
